Warhol, Andy (1928-1987) American pop artist who is considered one of the initiators of the postmodern era in the visual arts. Many of his works depict commonplace objects, such as soup cans, and include photographs of celebrities. In 1994 the Andy Warhol Museum was established in Pittsburgh.
