ABSTRACT

In this chapter we will review a miscellany of issues associated with preparing for a program of visits. This is followed by two chapters that discuss the major design decisions associated with customer visits: selecting what type of customer to visit, and deciding what topics to discuss during the visit and how these topics should be approached. Here I will discuss estimating a budget for the visit program; the recruitment of customers to participate; coordination of the visits, especially with the account management team; preparation of the team(s) that will conduct the visits; and expected time line.
