ABSTRACT

Of Plymouth Plantation Of Plymouth Plantation stands as one of the most famous and important journal histories produced during the colonial period. Its author, William Bradford, was a separatist who journeyed with his congregation from the village of Scrooby, England, first to the Netherlands and then to America (in the famous Mayflower pilgrimage). After the death of the Plymouth colony's first governor in 1621, Bradford was elected governor and remained the dominant political personage in the colony until his death in 1657.
