The main text consists of twenty-four pages, with fourteen blank pages. The original text of the Shih-ching (Xi-kim) B~~ and annotations are given on the margin.

Bouvet takes the chapter Sem mim (Sheng-min ~~) in the third part (the Ta Ya ::kft) of the Shih-ching (Book of Songs) as a messianic text. According to him, Hou-chi (Heu 9ie) J§m:, son of emperor Kao ~, was the founder of the Chou m dynasty. He was the brother of the emperor Yao ~. After the Deluge Hou-chi taught the people agriculture (p. 1):

Bouvet's explanations were based primarily on the Shih-san-ching chu-shu + =*~1.tjfffL (commentary and annotations of the Thirteen Classics): "Inter ceteros commentarios, sequemur potissimum illum qui sub titulo Xe san kim (Shih-san-ching) competitur [complectitur] plures alios diversis nominibus nempe chou tt, chuen {$., r;ien ~,xu jfffL, chim y IE~, mao xi =B~."
