ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the autobiography of Carolina Maria de Jesus, nicknamed Bitita, which includes details about her experiences about the revolution. Carolina was only familiar with the ants' revolution, when they move from one place to another. Joao Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque assassination in 1930 contributed to the outbreak of the Revolution of 1930, which resulted in Vargas taking power in Brazil. For those who had an idea of what it is to observe carefully, it could be seen that that revolution was being prepared for some three years. Carolina brother did not want to join up, he said that he was afraid of the revolution. For the poor, that revolution was a time of plenty. The people said that the revolution favored the man from the country who leave country life and live in the cities, finding work in the factories. Revolutions always help the country. Those who were mounting that revolution were the rich.
