ABSTRACT
The new technology that allows for the basic types of BrowserPoint presentations is the tabbed browser. This makes it quite easy to jump backward and forward among several different sites. Presentation software has become a standard accompaniment to lectures in education, business, government, and science. Older educational technologies have made it possible to use multimedia in the classroom for decades. Radios delivered audio, televisions displayed video. Slide projectors showed images, and overhead projectors allowed reusable class notes. Microsoft PowerPoint is the most popular choice for presentation software, people uses it as their example in this chapter. Great teachers sometimes use technology, but technology alone does not make great teachers. There are two basic types of media files on the Internet, those that people can download in their entirety and those that can only be streamed. Streaming means that they cannot put the file on their computer; they can only listen to it or watch it through the Internet.
