ABSTRACT
HISTORY: Until 1965, archival materials of the Ostankino Television and Radio-Broadcasting Company remained unarranged in the custody of the studios. Thereafter they were consolidated in a specialized Division of Audio Materials and Archival Documents (Otdel mikrofonnykh materialov i arkhivnykh dokumentov) under the Ostankino Administration of Affairs. In December 1991, the All-Union State Ostankino Television and Radio Broadcasting Company was reorganized into the Russian State Ostankino Television and Radio Company (RGTRK "Ostankino"). When RGTRK Ostankino was privatized in October 1995, its successor was reorganized as the nongovemmental corporation Russian Public Television-ORT (Obshchestvennoe rossiiskoe televidenie).
