ABSTRACT
Washington expanded on the arguments that he made in his letter to the Louisiana Constitutional Convention almost two years earlier in an interview published in the Atlanta Constitution, November 10, 1899. Again he calls for suffrage laws that treat blacks and whites equally. This interview was reprinted at Tuskegee as a pamphlet in 1902; and in BTW Papers 5: 261-65.
