ABSTRACT

In the postwar period Du Bois and the NAACP came under attack from the African American left. In "White Co-~orkers" (The Crisis 20 [May 1920): 6-8), Du Bois responded to charges that the NAACP was irrelevant because it was a white-dominated organization. In doing so he reasserted his commitment o desegregation as the ultimate solution to the race problem.
