The presence of a pricing council or a pricing committee will tell you that the company has already potentially moved from working in silos to working in teams. People listen to two voices in organizations: the Chief Economic Officer (CEO) and their direct supervisor. Asking about the CEO's degree of involvement signals that one understands the criticality of champions in deploying challenging and transformational pricing projects. Companies that have not begun this process will inevitably suffer from lack of alignment and some level of resistance from the salesforce with respect to the pricing agenda.
