ABSTRACT

Denis Blackham began mastering in 1969 at IBC Studios in London. He later worked for Polygram, RCA, The Master Room, Nimbus Records, Tape One, and Porky’s. In 1996, he set up his own home studio in Surrey, England, and when he moved to the Isle of Skye in 2002, he changed the name of this studio to Skye Mastering. Denis has mastered records by the likes of Antony and the Johnsons, Brian Eno & David Byrne, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Yes, Black Sabbath, the Bee Gees, Elvis Costello, Dolly Parton, Jethro Tull, Cabaret Voltaire, Alien Sex Fiend, Tears for Fears, and too many others to count. Denis semi-retired on May 5, 2014. He still masters, just not every day.
