ABSTRACT

There are three approaches to understanding and analyzing the social contradictions in the period of socialist construction. The first approach is the analytic method based on "class struggle". Its fundamental premise and inference is that all social contradictions during the period of socialism are essentially a reflection of the class struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. The second approach is the analytic method based on "material interests". Its fundamental premise and inference is that the basic social contradictions during the period of socialism are contradictions amidst the people. The third approach is the analytic method based on "social consciousness". Its fundamental premise and inference is that social structure is going through profound changes and social interest groups become diverse, some of which catalyzes the emergence of social contradictions and "social consciousness" of new social movement. The impact of class consciousness on the political order varies from country to country.
