ABSTRACT
In this chapter we’ll add a second independent variable. We could, for example, study pen and laptop in different disciplines, by investigating, say, the extent that note-taking in engineering works differently from note-taking in philosophy. Discipline would be the second IV and we would have a two-way design. We could use four independent groups, one for each combination of note taking method (Pen or Laptop) with discipline (Engineering or Philosophy). That would be a two-way independent groups design.
