Working with a woman with binge eating disorder

In this chapter I will extend the Jungian/post-Jungian view of the self as an emergent phenomenon through Judith Butler’s idea that the self is ec-static. By this Butler means that our sense of self is located ‘outside’ ourselves (2004a, p. 24) and that our experience of interiority is made up of an assemblage of alien pockets of inner otherness.
