ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on global issues such as health and hunger. There are also activities focusing on refugees, the arms trade and nuclear weapons, plus a game designed to make children aware of the issue of having a clean water supply. The chapter helps to make the children aware of global issues by asking the children to think about one thing they would change in the world if they could. It shows that what people need to keep healthy and that there are many people in the world who do not have these basic needs met. The chapter debates whether Britain should stop manufacturing arms and selling them to other countries and the issue of nuclear weapons. It analyses what life is like for a refugee and the problems that can lead to water shortages in certain less economically developed countries. The chapter considers about what would take if suddenly become a refugee.
