ABSTRACT

While the scope of defining narrative inquiry is quite large given there are entire handbooks that take up this challenge, my humble attempt here is to introduce the methodology of narrative inquiry to practitioners and then to take up how it has been used in physical education. In alignment with the other three methodology sections, this chapter will take up the following specific questions with attention to narrative inquiry: What is narrative inquiry? What are the main features of narrative inquiry? What is the history of narrative inquiry? How has it come to be used within physical education and sport? And what are the future possibilities of narrative inquiry within physical education and sport?
