ABSTRACT

In this chapter Brian Lewis describes the research process that unfolded as he engaged in a narrative inquiry research project alongside Indigenous youth in an after school wellness programme. He illustrates the relationship between the researcher and the researched and shows how this shapes the entire research process from negotiating a research space to analysing field texts to writing final research texts. Through this chapter we hope to not only show the organic, and at times uncertain nature of this process, but also what Brian learned from engaging in the process of undertaking a narrative inquiry.
