ABSTRACT
This chapter provides the guidance on how to enhance governance within local, regional and national contexts. Cross-cultural surveys of risk responses have all identified differences in risk judgements depending on the political, cultural and socio-economic basis of different countries. Emerging technologies creates the possibility of new opportunities that are not offered by nature, but the opportunity is accompanied by uncertainty and sheer scientific ignorance. GMFuturos confirms the innovation in different cultural and economic settings which impact directly on notions of what is the 'right' and responsible thing to do. GM crops has the power, impact of knowledge and experience derived from direct working and social experience of farming, crop production, food and material use. The governments of Mexico, Brazil and India are interlinked and produce powerful outcomes to: agricultural improvement and enhanced public access to safe and nutritious food, massive national economic benefit and raised national scientific and technological standing.
