Visual plagiarism and copyright Plagiarism refers to the presentation of work, in any form, that is not your own or used without permission. If a writer claims work written by someone else as her own, she has committed plagiarism. The same is true for an artist who copies a piece he didn’t paint, illustrate, or design. Plagiarism is theft. And those who commit plagiarism may be held legally responsible.
