ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1, the authors present general information on generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) that sets the stage for the remainder of the book. This chapter examines GAD in the context of the DSM-5; paints a clinical picture of what it looks like; introduces the reader to the epidemiology of GAD; and gives an overview of the costs related to it.
