There were also several significant intellectual attempts to bring together the two revolutionary traditions, among writers such as William Morris or Victor Serge, poets such as Andre´ Breton (the founder of the Surrealist movement), philosophers such as Walter Benjamin, and historians such as Daniel Gue´rin.
