The re- emergence of extreme right- wing movements in Britain, 1940– 5

After the arrests of May-July 1940, the scope for any continuance of organised right-wing activity of the kind undertaken up to this time became extremely limited. One might have presumed that this situation would continue for the duration of the war; but gradually various forms of political activity began once more to emerge (though the activists concerned did remain a beleaguered minority).
