ABSTRACT
In 1857 it became apparent to Marx once more from his observations that Britain was about to be plunged into an economic crisis. From this, he believed, social revolution would ensue to overthrow bourgeois capitalism. Compared to his earlier observations, the situation now seemed more critical. In order to facilitate the revolution, Marx felt that he must hasten to provide its critico-theoretical base in the form of his theory of the dynamics of capitalism in which the system's immanent contradictions were openly displayed.
