ABSTRACT
In Part VI, we explore the importance of the law and why we have law. The function law serves is considered in relation to what happens if it is disobeyed – individuals who disobey the law behave in an antisocial way and are labelled as being criminal. The purpose of law is considered in terms of why it originated in the rst place. In this chapter we explore the possible origins of law.
