ABSTRACT
When the war for Zimbabwe came to an official close at midnight, 21 December 1979, the ZimbabweRhodesian Security Forces had executed the most important components of an effective counter-insur gency strategy. Despite exhaustive efforts to imple ment such measures, very few of these had in fact proved successful.
