ABSTRACT

As the preceding chapters have shown, corporate audits designed to assess an organization’s culture, climate or communications can provide valuable insights into how effectively it is performing. A strong sense of identifica tion with the corporate culture, a positive climate which breeds high morale, and an effective system of internal communications represent essential ingredients of efficient organizational functioning and high competitive performance. Employees who feel that they ‘belong’, and know what they belong to, are healthier, more committed and more productive. In increasingly competitive business environments, ineffective operations internally will lead to loss of market share and profitability, and may eventually lead to the collapse of the business altogether.
