ABSTRACT

Facilitators, mediators and consultants pays outsiders, usually negotiation professionals, hires to move negotiations along. Usually mutual agreement selects them among the negotiating parties because they are experienced, respected and trained. They usually do not deal with deeply substantive issues, however they help the parties voice their views, actively listen to each other and can help the parties create solutions through use of problem-solving techniques. Mediation, facilitation and consulting generally done with careful regard for neutrality. In some cultures and companies, renegotiation considers a bad outcome that is a failure. In other places however, renegotiation is seen as a way to expand the relationship and the business activity. The negotiators expects that additional data and neutral interpretations helps them to find solutions external experts and fact-finders usually do not included in the negotiation process and do not directly participate in problem solving.
