ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the development and characteristics of Neil Houston House, a unique residential program that offers 15 criminally sentenced pregnant women an alternative to incarceration. It is one of several allied programs for women in conflict with the law administered by a Boston nonprofit advocacy and service organization, Social justice for Women. The impact of Houston House on women and their lives is described in their own words.
