ABSTRACT

Entrepreneurs do not have the time to read a thick, technically oriented book on business appraisal nor the excess cash to hire a professional appraiser on a whim. As a result, proposals for sale or investment are frequently rejected or accepted on the basis of some vague valuation ratio or, absent that, emotions. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a brief synopsis of valuation so that an entrepreneur can eco - nomically and rapidly determine which offers are unreasonable and which are worthy of further consideration.
