ABSTRACT

The research questions have been subjected to statistical analyses in the previous chapter. The purpose of the present chapter is to draw conclusions in terms of both policy and theory based upon these statistical observations. Initially, the basic hypotheses guiding the researcher will be reviewed and general conclusions offered. Then, attention will be focused on the findings in general and relative to each sample. Third, policy implications and recommendations will be considered, both in terms of program design and program implementation. At end, the methods employed in the present effort will be critically assessed and the researcher will offer suggestions for future researchers to consider when conducting research in this policy area or when examining this specific or similar populations. The first task, however, is to review the basic tenets guiding this research and it is to that subject that attention now turns.
