ABSTRACT

At the end of each study, two useful questions should be asked of the author: What has this study accomplished? What new information has it generated to supplement current research on elderly Native American mental health or on mental health in general? The purpose of the present chapter is to address both of these concerns. Initially, the basic objectives of the study will be reviewed and discussed. Then, attention will shift to a discussion of the contributions made by the present researcher, including those relative to theory, methods, and policy, respectively. At end, general directions for future research in this area will be considered.
