ABSTRACT
Often, crime analyses must move beyond describing characteristics one at a time. Crime is complex, and it is often required to examine it using more advanced bivariate and multivariate techniques. This chapter discusses Pearson’s r as a method of examining the relationship between two or multiple instances of two characteristics. It also discusses one of the most common multivariate techniques: multiple regression. The application for crime analyses are also discussed.
