ABSTRACT
This chapter explores how Norwegian middle-class parents (couples) in full-time jobs coordinate their everyday lives of work and care in order to maintain gender equality. Drawing on semi-structured interviews with mothers and fathers, this chapter illuminates the situation when parents bring their children to and pick them up from the day-care centre, a task the parents in this sample share between them. A closer look at this situation though, reveals strong moral obligations striking mothers harder than fathers, meaning that an equal practice may not in fact be equal after all.
