ABSTRACT

Now we develop an argument against the propositionalist parallel to the argument against the sententialist. For simplicity, I assume that ‘that the earth moves’ is not context sensitive. This allows us to discharge the relativized reference clause in [1c]. First we observe that if [30] gives the interpretive truth condition for [1], as it does according to [1c], then it would seem that [50] gives the interpretive truth condition for [2].
