ABSTRACT

But what do you do with all of your data? That is, how do you go about understanding the meaning of all of the data you have collected? You know that the data should be representative of the larger population and that you can use information from these data to form estimates about that population. But estimates based on what? Before you can draw conclusions based on quantitative data, you have to understand how best to summarize those data through the use of descriptive statistics. In doing so, you will take the first steps toward telling the story of your data, from how often people engage in various behaviors to how they feel about different issues and topics.
