ABSTRACT
I write this chapter from the perspective of 11 years of living in France and working as a Normandy battlefield guide. Each year, I am engaged in daily tours up to nine hours in duration. After several years of working for two of the leading companies in this field, I became an independent guide in 2014, working mostly from March right through until the end of October. In addition, I conduct my own research in the fields, laneways and villages across Normandy. I am particularly interested in the sectors south of the landing beaches, areas where much occurred in the summer of 1944 and yet few tours visit: Normandy still holds many secrets.
