ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents an overview of key concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The goal of this book is to argue about the holistic approach to understanding labour and capitalism. It is difficult, to contain the analysis and its putative subject consumer labour in digital media. The final contention of the book is that Marxist feminism is a useful tool for understanding various kinds of paid labour, but particularly those associated with the creative, high technology or cultural industries. The critique enabled by Marxist feminist analysis of domestic work also has implications for how we must analyse capital and subsequently, the forms of struggle which needs to engage. Outlining some of the further applications of Marxist feminist frameworks is the work of the short concluding chapter. It places the Digital Housewife in a wider narrative, revealing the greater salience of the figure and the theoretical frameworks through which it is animated.
