ABSTRACT

Pakistan is a developing country with the second highest child mortality rate in South Asia. In 2010, under-five child mortality rate in Pakistan was reported as 87 per 1000 live births (TheWorld Bank, 2011). Unfortunately, during the past years this region has undergone several humanitarian emergencies, i.e. natural and man-made disasters, which have not only raised the child mortality rates in Pakistan but have negatively affected all aspects of children’s health and their development (Hirani & Kenner, 2011; Warraich, Zaidi, & Patel, 2011).
