ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on how and where to look for appropriate academic literature for the project. One of the most challenging and time-consuming stages of any research project involves gaining a deeper understanding of the topic through locating and reading a wide variety of relevant books and articles. While one may have consulted academic literature for previous university assignments during your Bachelor's degree, their research project will involve more systematic review of literature related to the topic; their university may even stipulate that one include a certain minimum number of academic sources in their Literature Review. To find relevant information from books, journals, electronic databases or the Internet, one needs to think of keywords that guides their search. When people use Google Scholar, a PDF symbol appears to the right of some results. This tells that the document is freely accessible and can be downloaded onto the computer. Universities often have subscriptions to academic journals and books in electronic form.
