ABSTRACT
Achievement motivation has been referred to as the need for achievement (and abbreviated n Achievement) since the beginning of its systematic study (McClel land, Clark, Roby, & Atkinson, 1949). It is an important determinant of aspiration, effort, and persistence when an individual expects that performance will be evaluated in relation to some standard of excellence. Such behavior is generally called achievement oriented.
