ABSTRACT
The qualities of leaders and the processes of leadership have long been considered
important areas of inquiry. Early speculation about the personality traits and qualities of
a successful leader has given way to the study of leadership behavior and analysis of
situational factors such as the type of group and the nature of the group’s task.
