attend-while research seem-
Second, develop a plan for your research agenda. For new faculty members, this means knowing which articles are to be written from your dissertation. I recommend following a practice I employ to this day: making up a folder for each "article in progress" that carries a label with a title attached. For me, this practice allows the article to assume a more concrete form-something I can envision ending up in print some day. Devising a title is important because it captures, if only provisionally, what the thrust of the article will entail. The folder is important because it is a handy place into which materials relevant to the article can be placed-such stuff as quotes or publications one runs across or ideas about the project that one jots down onto scraps of paper or develops into a systematic outline.
