ABSTRACT
I Performance Appraisal First-line supervisors’ responsibilities include preparing performance evaluations, but few receive proper training in how to do it. Police managers are recognizing (1) that quality of service is likely to revolve around the recruitment and selection of personnel and (2) that important officer qualities include intelligence, ability, skill, experience, integrity, and dedication.
