ABSTRACT
I Police Work Police work has become highly complex, with a majority of an officer’s time spent keeping the peace and providing nonpolice services. Even though it can be rewarding, police work is often also unappreciated and unpleasant. Due to broad discretionary power, the complexity of their work, and some of the people that the work requires officers to come into contact with, police are particularly vulnerable to corruption and deviance.
