ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the collaborative arrangement between nonprofits (NPO)s and partnering organizations to promote a health cause, and explains the objectives of the NPOs, forms these collaborations and reviews the motivations for organizations to undertake such arrangements. Before detailing communication efforts related to the collaborative relationship depicted in, it is necessary to consider the motivation for NPOs and enterprises to work together toward a given cause. It is still important to review these motivations and those of third-party groups as they relate to communication processes that impinge on the development and maintenance of these important joint efforts. It also focuses on the last responsibility of Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO)s, public education and it is considered as their main social objective. OPOs have a direct link to the cause of donation and work directly with organ donation promotion and recovery. Universities' motivation to partner with OPOs is usually driven by the value-added nature of collaborations in relation to service learning.
