ABSTRACT
This chapter presents automotive practical worksheets for servicing vehicle engine. It provides step-by-step guides for routine vehicle maintenance inspections/service, performing visual and aural checks on running engine, inspecting chain drive mechanisms, inspecting drive belt condition and tension, inspecting water pump bearings and seal for leakage, and checking the operation of cooling fan and airflow through radiator. A blank job card for students to complete and an assessor report are provided with each worksheet. This should be copied and then filled in alongside the task one is completing, including all relevant details regarding the vehicle, the fault and the rectification procedure where appropriate. This worksheets book for students at Level 1 contains tasks that help a person develop practical skills and prepare him/her for assessment. The tasks also reinforce the automotive theory that he/she will learn online and in the classroom.
