ABSTRACT

I I CONCLUDE this study with the discussion of a dream which the patient dreamed a few days after he had done the painting of the cathedral.

From the painting itself it was not easy to see what immediate relation the theme of the disintegrating cathedrar had with the patient's personal life. In the dream this connection is clearly developed, though it could hardly be anticipated that the problem of instinctual inferiority would be found to reach right down into the historical foundations of Christendom.
