ABSTRACT

The hypothesis have advanced, that dreams serve the purpose of compensation, is a very broad and comprehensive assumption. It means that they believe the dream to be a normal psychic phenomenon that transmits unconscious reactions or spontaneous impulses to the conscious mind. The archetype is, on the contrary, an inherited tendency of the human mind to form representations of mythological motifs representations that vary a great deal without losing their basic pattern. One must wait until the dream and its meaning are sufficiently understood, or until some external event occurs that will explain the dream. This is an aspect of the modern "cultural" mind that is well worth looking into. In their time of general disorientation, it is necessary to know about the true state of human affairs, which depends so much on the mental and moral qualities of the individual and on the human psyche in general.
