ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with particular requirements for special locations and installations such as bathrooms, swimming pools and construction sites. These provide tabulated and other background information required by the designer/installer/tester. It must be remembered that the Institution of Engineering and Technology, IET Regulations are not a collection of unrelated statements each to be interpreted in isolation; there are many cross-references throughout which may render such an interpretation valueless. However, one may have to try different combinations of wording in order to locate a particular item. Distribution circuits, like those in caravan parks, can be either underground or overhead, as well as PVC covered mineral insulated, cables in cable management systems. However, overhead cables on or incorporating a support wire, cables with aluminium conductors or mineral insulated cables shall not be installed above a jetty or pontoon. The chapter presents a brief overview of medical locations that include hospitals, private clinics, dental practices, and healthcare centres.
