ABSTRACT
Al-Manar TV is a Lebanese channel affiliated to the Lebanese Shi‘ite party Hizbullah (the Party of God). Al-Manar was the first media organization to be put on the US list of terrorist organizations. Between 1996 and 2000 (the year Israel withdrew from south Lebanon), al-Manar channel conducted a creative and organized media campaign against the Israeli occupation of south Lebanon.1 This campaign continued to operate during the first Palestinian Intifada which erupted in September 2000 and, later, during the 2006 July war.
